Roger Federer

Roger Federer was born in Basel, Switzerland on August 8th, 1981 and was among his country’s top junior tennis players by age 11. Five years after turning pro in 1998, Roger Federer won his first Grand Slam singles tournament at Wimbledon (2003) by beating Mark Philippoussis in three sets (7-6) (6-2) (7-6).   Since then, Federer has gone on to be the most successful tennis player in the history of the game by capturing a record number, 20 Grand Slam singles titles.  With all of Roger’s successes on the tennis court, he is inarguably the greatest tennis player of all time.  However, there is much more than exceptional talent that exemplifies this man.  From the moment we have seen Roger Federer in the international spotlight and throughout his storied career, he has always remained a consummate gentleman.  Throughout the tumultuous ups and downs of any professional athlete, he has remained steady, kind and focused in the public eye.  His love for the game of tennis is something that exudes from his personality and we don’t anticipate his retirement any time soon.  He is still oscillating among the top 5 players in the world at age 38 and we are so grateful for every moment we get to witness his excellence on and off the court.   He is a wonderful role model for children and the kind of man we hope our sons grow up to be.  Our hats are completely off to you Mr. Federer.
